Last Sunday I had a playdate with my buddy Seamus!
We're supposed to be practicing for this summer when I come to "Camp Seamus" for two whole weeks! We're great buddies and get on with very little fussing at each other! We even dress alike... notice our tasteful matching harnesses!!
Sunday however, as you can see we were mostly interested in what Grandma B was doing inside in the kitchen!!

Sickday
M had to leave work early yesterday. They said she sounded awful and sent her home... I agree, her voice was scary yesterday, she sounds like one of those Canadian geese I see flying over the house honking about everything they see! Anyway I had a big job yesterday keeping her comfortable and fetching her things... ok so maybe I didn't fetch her anything, but I did serve as a full length body warmer for her and a napping buddy! As a result I was quite worn out by the end of the day and had to take an extra long pre-bedtime nap!!

I'm back! (And so is M)!!
Which is a good thing, because even though I had lots of fun with C, I missed her
and I didn't understand why she would leave an adorable face like mine....
until I saw this picture
and this one
and this one
That must be what lured her away from me, I can understand that... work couldn't possibly be that important, and I know how she is with food. That's probably why they went to see this sculpture... it's called the bean, maybe she thought she could eat it or something.

Still doesn't look more fun than hanging out with me and C though. But, I'm just glad she's back, and I'm celebrating by taking a nap!

I will be taking a break from blogging for a few days...
because M is out of town on a business trip and I find it very difficult to make any posts without her assistance. Paws are just not as functional as hands unfortunately (I'd be able to open the refrigerator if they were).
I'm not happy about this development but apparently I don't get a say in the matter!!

Kind of looks like I fell off the top pillow and just landed here
I may have, I typically like to sleep on top of that pillow but every once in awhile I don't get the balance quite right and it dumps me... luckily I can sleep anytime anywhere...
For example right now I am sleeping on my giraffe... he looked lonely

I had a great workout tonight!
There is nothing better than flying through the yard...
Then coming inside and sticking your snout (and your ears) in your water bowl, dripping it all over the floor... I'm a little jowly...
... and then sacking out on the floor...
M says that between all the exercise and the sun bathing I'm going to need a bath soon... I'm not sure how I feel about that, but it sure was fun!

I would like to clarify ...
Something that was included in my last blog post about my tendency to "bark like a maniac and jump up on strangers." Just so we're all on the same page, I do that not because I don't like strangers or because I don't want to meet them. In fact, it's exactly the opposite, I so greatly desire to meet these "strangers" who to me are all really just new best friends waiting to be made, that I can not control all my beagle-ish excitement and my desire to cover them with doggie kisses which I have heard not all people like, but I refuse to believe that! This over-exuberance has in times past found me rearing up on my hind legs waving my front paws and howling to try to attract my new friends attention... somehow this causes M and C great embarrassment... sometimes I do not understand them. Anyway to make sure I get my point across I'm not a maniac or a bad dog I just love people and desire to meet every single one I see! So if you see a beagle frantically howling and waving at you with his front paws, stop by and say hello! You never know it might be me, the Eager Beagle!

I know you can't tell from this picture but...
I'm protesting my humans right now. Why? Because after leaving me all week to do whatever it is they do when humans go to "work" they also left me today to go visit the park where they got married. Whatever, I don't know why I couldn't go... they said something about my tendency to bark like a maniac and jump up on people I don't know but again I say whatever if they're strangers then clearly they don't know you so why do you care if they think you have an insane doggie?? Hello people Sundays are supposed to be all about me... who wouldn't want to spend the whole day with this sweet face??
GRRR I'm so irritated about the whole thing I could just have a "accident" in the house... maybe I'll go find a good spot to have one...

Thoughts on buttercups
Good Evening Eager Beagle readers,
As you can see I'm in a somewhat exhausted/thoughtful state tonight having worn myself out earlier in the yard playing with my green bowling pins. So I think tonight I will relate to you a delightful story about my first experience with "buttercups."
For those of you who don't know, this is a buttercup:
I was watching M pull weeds when she discovered this, I was delighted to find out that there is a lovely yellow flower named after one of my absolutely favorite foods and according to her grandfather if you hold a buttercup under your chin and it turns yellow you must like butter...apparently as a child her chin always turned yellow, setting her up for her life long love of butter (or at least that's her excuse). Of course my chin turned yellow as well... and since there was no butter within reach I then tried to eat the buttercup.. M got it away from me just in time. Oh well maybe it's time to go see if the butter dish is anywhere within reach...

Why I don't like Doggie Bags
Because they clearly are not for doggies that's why!!
For example M was at it again tonight. She came home with the remains of what had been a ultimate mac and cheese pizza which looked delightful...
It smelled even more delightful than it looked, my sensitive nose could smell every one of the seven cheeses plus the tomato and caramelized onions! M said it was out of this world and I believe it. But will I see even a crumb of the leftover pizza... NO! Even though it came home in what is laughingly called a doggie bag, if it was really a doggie bag doggies, such as myself, would get to eat from it. It should be called a leftover bag, that's what it is... calling it a doggie bag is just a big fat tease... Is there no justice in this world??
